AVITEM workshop organised at IMREDD
On Wednesday 10 July, the Agence des Villes et Territoires Méditerranéennes Durable (AVITEM) organised a workshop at the IMREDD on Mediterranean metropolises, focusing on the city of Nice and the Nice-Côte d'Azur metropolitan area.
As part of the globalisation process, the climate and environmental emergency, social and territorial cohesion... metropolises are the main stakeholders in these challenges and dynamics of the Mediterranean basin. The future of the Mediterranean depends to a large extent on the quality of metropolitan development and planning projects.
During this day of immersion, the participants were able to discover the major challenges facing the region through presentations by Pierre-Jean Barre, Director of IMREDD and Alain Chateau, Head of the Centre of Excellence of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis, as well as a visit to IMREDD's Smart City Innovation Centre. The participants, 25 public and private sector executives from Lebanon, Albania, Morocco, Tunisia and France, were able to draw lessons and practices to be shared at the round tables organised afterwards.
