Change of management at IMREDD
Emmanuel Tric has been appointed Acting Director of IMREDD as of 1 February 2023. He succeeds Eric Dumetz, Director of the Institute since September 2021, and previously Deputy Director since 2013. After 10 years of imagining and co-constructing IMREDD, Eric Dumetz has decided to devote himself fully to Fondation Université Côte d’Azur, which is beginning its renewal with new ambitions.
Emmanuel Tric is a Professor of Geophysics at the Université Côte d’Azur and the GEOAZUR laboratory. He was President of the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis from 2017 to 2020, until the creation of the Université Côte d’Azur. His research activities have covered various topics, ranging from past instabilities in the Earth's magnetic field to processes associated with thermosolutal convection in closed environments, dehydration effects of tectonic plates during subduction, and instabilities of mountain slopes. He has held several positions: vice-president of the Board of Directors, director of the Earth-Environment-Space department (2005-2009), director of the doctoral college (2007-2010), and director of the Geoazur laboratory (2010–2016).
