Back to events: EUROSTARS - Kick-off of the DEEPCURE project
Thursday 13 June saw the launch of the DEEPCURE project in Ireland. This project is part of the European EUROSTARS* The project is focused on the design of a new biomaterial that will reduce the cost of treating serious wounds and burns. The company behind the project Biovotec As, and the project partners Cica Biomedical Ltd and University of Côte d'Azur (through the Institutes for Innovation and Partnerships IMREDD and HELIIX) attended the event.
*EUROSTARS is a European programme designed to support innovative SMEs with high growth potential that invest heavily in R&D. Projects must target an innovative product, process or service that is close to the market, with a maximum development phase of 3 years, to be marketed within 2 years of the end of the project.
As a partner in promoting growth and employment in the region, Université Côte d'Azur makes its resources and skills available to companies wishing to create new services or products, or to expand or diversify. It responds to each situation in a unique and personalised way, by setting up innovation partnership projects that enable proofs of concept to be transformed into experimental or operational prototypes.
UCA has set up innovation and partnership institutes, built around very high-level technological platforms, to respond to societal challenges linked to the region. The DEEPCURE project involves both IMREDD, which works in the field of smart cities, and HELIIX (Health & Longevity Institut of Innovation & eXperimentation), which is dedicated to health, well-being and ageing.
