Experimentation with the ciTHy S delivery robot from TwinswHeel in partnership with LEROY MERLIN
As part of the Chairs Territories & Autonomous Vehicles and UX for Smart Living: Home & Mobility, from 24 January to 2 February 2024, the IMREDD collaborated with Leroy Merlin Nice to carry out a pilot test of the French manufacturer's ciTHy S delivery robot Twinswheel. The experiment took place at the Leroy Merlin Goods Withdrawal depot in Carros, with the aim of evaluating the robot's operational capabilities in a real logistics environment.
This test allowed the robot to be put through its paces in various work scenarios, enabling an assessment of its navigation through aisles and goods loading and unloading areas, as well as its ability to detect obstacles and interact with the environment, all while appreciating its potential to provide support to staff.
It is essential to stress that the aim is not to replace employees, but to assist them in their daily tasks and to relieve them of tiring work.
The IMREDD teams are enthusiastic about continuing this collaboration with Leroy Merlin and TwinswHeel to further test the potential of this innovation and contribute, with the manufacturer and the users, to the development of the technology for the benefit of employees!
