IRIS Project: Launch of an ambitious energy renovation project
Engie Cofely, new partner in the local consortium of the European project IRIS, organised a Kick Off on Wednesday 22 May 2019, to present the various missions and objectives of the team carrying out the energy renovation project, led by Alexis TAWFIK.
Energy efficiency
Initially, Engie Cofely will be working on the energy optimisation of 2 buildings in the Moulins area of Nice. The aim of this optimisation is to intelligently regulate the collective heating system so that it is best suited to the needs of each flat, taking into account its exposure and actual temperature.
Over the course of the project, various solutions will be proposed and tested, with varying technical and economic benefits depending on the options chosen. The final year of the project will be devoted to assessing and analysing the solutions applied in order to select the most effective scenario for residents.
Civic engagement and energy awareness
In addition to its energy renovation mission, Engie Cofely will be contributing its expertise in the field of civic engagement. The residents of the buildings selected for this project will be made aware of energy issues. It will be deployed around 3 axes:
I) What is renewable energy?
II) How will my good energy practices impact my building, my neighbourhood and my town on a daily basis?
III) How will my good energy practices impact my energy bill?
Engie Cofely will work with the other partners in the consortium to guarantee optimum results in terms of comfort for residents, energy savings and civic involvement. Finally, particular attention will be paid to the possibility of applying the solutions implemented in this project to other IRIS partner cities.
As a reminder IRIS European project is part of the Horizon 2020 programme and proposes innovative and replicable solutions in the fields of the environment, renewable energy, intelligent mobility and, more broadly, in the city of tomorrow. Launched in September 2017, the project brings together 41 partners from 7 countries and will last 5 years. The other local partners are: Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur, Université Nice Sophia-Anipolis, EDF, Enedis, Nexity, CSTB, Côte d'Azur Habitat, Atmo Sud and Vulog.
