IMREDD takes part in Biomim'Expo 2025 in Marseille for the first time
On 28 October, IMREDD will be participating for the first time at Biomim« Expo, the major event for biomimicry and innovations inspired by nature, through its UX Chair »User Experiences for Smart Life: Home & Mobility".
Less than two years after its launch, the Future Human Habitat (FHH) project from the UX Chair continues to reach major new milestones. After developing an innovative methodology, a new indicator of human needs, and three forward-looking scenarios for the year 2065 (possible, plausible, and probable), the project has applied these frameworks to rethink two pilot districts in Nice and Copenhagen, thereby mobilising local ecosystems around a shared reflection on tomorrow's housing.
These works continued through active participation in UNOC3, with exhibitions and presentations in Villefranche-sur-Mer, and the implementation of the first experimental laboratory of its kind: the summer school «5 Oceans, 5 Colonies: Sculpting Future Living Architecture On and Below Water».
At Biomim'Expo 2025, the Chair's team will present the results of this laboratory, the co-creation process that accompanied it, as well as the next stages of research and experimentation, notably the new edition of the Future Experimental Lab.
This work is based on a balance between quantitative and qualitative data, utilising:
- Three types of thinking: systemic, future-oriented and exponential; ;
- Three forms of intelligence: environmental (systemic biomimicry), artificial and collective; ;
- Innovative learning approaches, enabling a rethinking of traditional education and research models to co-construct the habitat of the future.
The Future Human Habitat approach covers all habitat ecosystems: mobility, energy, water, technology, environment, social and legal aspects, and extends to architecture, introduced for the first time in 60 years at Université Côte d’Azur.
Join us on 28 October in Marseille to discover projects, talk with researchers and partners, and explore future avenues for collaboration on sustainable ways of living.
