New agreement with the FFB on artificial intelligence applied to the construction sector
The IMREDD signs a collaboration agreement with the French Building Federation to imagine and develop application cases for artificial intelligence techniques in the construction sector. IMREDD will carry out work complementary to the reflection initiated by the FFB and formalised in a report published in April 2019 entitled «Artificial intelligence and construction: understand, anticipate and act: opportunities for the profession».
Based on this report, which describes the changes that building tradespeople and contractors are facing or will face, IMREDD will further explore the potential applications of artificial intelligence techniques (big data, Internet of Things, BIM, robots, drones, blockchain, etc.) in the building sector. This will cover areas such as the design and implementation of construction sites, building operation and maintenance, defining customer needs and aiding decision-making, and skills management, among others. Think tanks, bringing together students from building, IT, and electronics specialisms, research laboratories, and local industry stakeholders, will be organised and will contribute to the joint development of a use case report.
