Relive the intervention by Damienne Provitolo, at the Nice Climate Summit 2024
During the round table discussion entitled «When Rising Oceans Threaten the Coastline», Damienne Provitolo, Deputy Scientific Director of IMREDD and Research Director at the CNRS, joined Giao-Minh Nguyen, Co-founder and Chief of Strategy & Innovation Officer of Prométhée Earth Intelligence, as well as Sébastien Dupray, Technical Director for Risks, Water and Seas at Cerema, for an essential exchange on the challenges posed by climate change for coastal areas.
The speakers highlighted the crucial role of data, particularly that from satellite imagery, in understanding the risks associated with rising sea levels. They also emphasised the importance of social and place-based data, stemming from the humanities, to support the implementation of appropriate measures and foster public acceptance of the necessary actions to counter these threats.
