[Feedback on the event] CCI Nice's «Habitat of the Future
Demographic ageing is leading to major transformations in housing design to enable optimal ageing and prolonged home care. It is essential to anticipate these changes and assess their impact on society as a whole.
This Tuesday, 27 June, the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur organised an event dedicated to this question. Roberta Pennucchi, Partnerships and Scientific Animation Officer at IMREDD and Head of the User Experience for Smart Life Chair, was invited to participate in the «Habitat of the Future» round table, focusing on the Silver Economy. The following topics were addressed as part of this event:
The impact of the demographic transition on housing needs.
– New needs and innovations to anticipate these changes.
– 'Future Living» initiatives: lessons learned on new ways of living, intergenerational living, inclusive living, etc.
– What will housing look like in 2050?
This event was an opportunity to present the flagship projects of IMREDD and the UX for Smart Life Chair, which focus on the homes of tomorrow, taking into account the ageing population. Among these projects:
– The development of technologies for monitoring risky behaviours to rapidly detect potential health problems.
– The acceptability of surveillance solutions.
– The CA3DREME project (3D Food Supplements, Experimental Medical-Educational Research), which aims to improve food provision for people with difficulty chewing, swallowing, and producing saliva (elderly people, people with disabilities, patients with head and neck cancers).
– Delivery by autonomous vehicle.
The event was also an excellent opportunity for exchanges and the development of an ecosystem for seniors.
If we were to take away one main idea, it would be that humans are at the heart of actions for the home of tomorrow. All the initiatives and solutions proposed highlight benevolence and the desire to support the aging population towards «well-aging» and a «sparkling» lifestyle.
