A follow-up on the second PUMA-X Experts Committee meeting
On 16th March, the PUMA-X Expert Committee met at IMREDD to review the project's progress and discuss the open, interoperable, and scalable risk management platform. This meeting was the second in a series of four, with the next two scheduled for May and July.
PUMA-X First Demo
The meeting provided an opportunity to present the first «live» demonstration of PUMA-X, led by Yannick Ferrand, Major Risk Management Director for the City of Cannes. With members of the consortium, he presented a real-life scenario of red storm warnings experienced by Cannes in December 2019 and how the situation could be managed with PUMA-X. Over 30 participants representing local authorities such as the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the cities and metropolises of Nice, Toulouse, Marseille, Nantes, Lyon, Toulon, Bastia, as well as the SDIS (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service), EPTBs (Public Territorial Cooperation Establishments) and major groups attended the presentation.
Participants were able to discover the capabilities of the PUMA-X risk management platform and share their needs, such as alerts, monitoring, territorial awareness, resource management, and information management.
Participants who wish to continue in the Committee of Experts Testing for PUMA-X will begin in mid-April, with participants having signed a charter of commitment. This collaboration will allow members to test the platform in real-world conditions and provide their feedback to improve the solution.
About PUMA-X
The PUMA-X platform is an ambitious project, developed by a consortium of seven major players in the security, defence and environmental sectors – 102telecom, Predictive Services, Prysm, IGO, Jaguars and JIPE – as well as an innovation institute, the’IMREDD (Université Côte d’Azur). It enables integrated risk management by providing tools for alerting, monitoring, planning, and coordinating actions in case of a crisis. The platform has been designed to be open, interoperable, and modular, thus allowing it to adapt to the specific needs of each user.
This PUMA-X Experts Committee meeting was a real success, testifying to the growing interest in risk management and innovative solutions in this field. The PUMA-X platform promises to be a promising solution to help local authorities and businesses effectively manage risks and better anticipate crises.
