Université Côte d’Azur, in partnership with the town of Mandelieu-La Napoule and the Cannes Pays de Lérins conurbation, launched an experimental autonomous shuttle navigation service for the Mandelieu territory this Wednesday, October 9th, as part of the Autonomous Territories and Shuttles Chair supported by IMREDD.
From 3 to 18 August 2024, the Chair in Territories and Autonomous Shuttles is carrying out an autonomous shuttle experiment in Valberg. The objective is to test an autonomous mobility service in a mountain environment. This involves proposing an innovative mobility solution, adapted to the territory and respectful of the environment, and testing its adoption and sustainability, in terms of both acceptability and economic model.
For four weeks in 2022, employees of the Arkopharma, Options and Aqualung companies in the Carros-le-Broc Industrial Estate tested autonomous mobility and took part in surveys linked to the experiment. Find out more about the key figures and results in the image.
IMREDD has launched a self-driving shuttle trial. For four weeks, employees of participating companies can test this new technology and participate in surveys related to the trial.
This experiment aims to demonstrate that it is possible to operate autonomous vehicles without an on-board driver, in an environment similar to that of an urban area. It will allow the validation of the technology and the business model, a necessary condition for the large-scale deployment of such a service.

This Tuesday, 28 September, IMREDD was present at the «Mobility» thematic day of CAIPDV, with its autonomous shuttle «Aimable,» which is currently being tested in the Industrial Zone, as well as the Twinswheel, an autonomous parcel delivery robot.
«Aimable», the IMREDD's autonomous shuttle, will be running on the tracks during a presentation of innovative mobility solutions.
The vehicle, newly integrated into its Smart City Innovation Center collaborative technology platform, will be used as part of collaborative projects in the field of smart mobility.
