Co-led by Orange, Awabot, and IMREDD at Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, the project brings together cutting-edge telecommunications, robotics, and academic research to address educational inequality and social isolation through 5G-powered telepresence.<\/p>\n<h2>Solid Foundations and Concrete Experimentations<\/h2>\n<p>The indoor 5G coverage system, based on Nokia\u2019s ASIR technology, was completed in November 2025. Initial tests validated both technical integration and telepresence use cases, including a public demonstration event held in May. Eight articles were published on the project\u2019s website to make the technical and societal challenges more accessible.<\/p>\n<h2>Next Steps<\/h2>\n<p>In 2026, 5G Metro will move into real-life experimentation: connected robots, edge computing, AR\/VR, and more.
