The members of the steering committee of the \u00abWater in the Alpes-Maritimes territories\u00bb partnership chair met on 3 July 2026 at the Valberg Departmental House of Environment and Observation and validated the chair's scientific and action plans for 2026-2027.<\/p>\n

Chaired by Charles Ange Gin\u00e9sy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, and attended by Jeanick Brisswalter, President of Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur, this committee brought together representatives of the Chair\u2019s founding members: the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the seven founding partner public inter-municipal cooperation bodies (EPCIs) (CAPG, CAPL, CASA, CARF, CCAA, CCPP, MNCA), and Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur through its Institute for Innovation and Partnership IMREDD and its Foundation.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Isabelle La Jeunesse, the Chair's coordinator, presented a review of the past year's activities, the progress of the five working groups, and the Chair's development prospects. The members unanimously approved the 2026-2027 scientific programme, which will continue the work undertaken on knowledge of the resource, its uses, its governance, and the emergence of innovative solutions for the Alpes-Maritimes territories.<\/p>\n

The morning was dedicated to Water Day, organised jointly by the Department of Alpes-Maritimes and the Universit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Foundation and accompanied by the Chair, to support the creation of responses to territorial challenges regarding water resources.<\/p>\n

Water Awards Ceremony<\/h3>\n

This edition aimed to reward the winners of the\u00a0Water Trophies<\/a>, who have distinguished themselves through their innovative initiatives for sustainable resource management:<\/p>\n

The \u00abEducation and Society\u00bb prize, worth \u20ac5,000, has been awarded to Agribio 06 for its \"Eau'ptimisons!\" project, which supports farmers in achieving more restrained and efficient water resource management. ;<\/p>\n

The \u00abYoung Enterprise\u00bb Award, worth \u20ac15,000, was presented to Serenity for its \u201cUrban Oasis\u201d project, which develops a 100% self-sufficient urban cooling solution, based on a combination of atmospheric condensation, solar energy and misting technology developed by the Ar\u00e9co Group.<\/p>\n

An international initiative for REUT<\/h3>\n

The participants also attended the launch of the International Water Trophy, dedicated to treated wastewater reuse (TEWR). Spearheaded by the Department of Alpes-Maritimes and the University C\u00f4te d'Azur Foundation, and supported by the Chair, this call for projects is endowed with a \u20ac50,000 grant and aims to promote innovative solutions for the regeneration of wastewater of varying qualities according to demands and uses.<\/p>\n

The morning concluded with an immersive session in Valberg's magnificent planetarium, led by Isabelle La Jeunesse and St\u00e9phane Croutte, the stage manager, offering participants an original approach to the challenges of preserving Earth's water resources.<\/p>\n
