Smart City Chair: Philosophy & Ethics
Goals
In the age of the connected human, seeking virtual spaces upon which to project new desires, the task is to establish, in response to very real demands, the infrastructure that can meet unprecedented needs, improve living conditions, and consequently shape the citizen of the future in order to improve coexistence within cities and rethink their governance.
For today's person, the «city of tomorrow» or Smart City will be unrecognisable, transformed because it aims to respond to new challenges and make the city intelligent by anticipating urban planning and the implementation of modern and functional structures. Nevertheless, this revolution in housing and technoscience cannot be dispensed with from philosophical reflection because it involves reconsidering – in the «near future» – the place of man at the heart of these conurbations which, for the moment, mainly constitute spaces where economic and industrial stakes are considerable.
