AMVE - Risk and Resilience
Goals
In partnership with AMVE (Association of Municipalities of the Middle Itajaí Valley), this experimental study aims to establish a natural risk management platform in the 14 participating municipalities of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina – Apiúna, Ascurra, Benedito Novo, Blumenau, Botuverá, Brusque, Doutor Pedrinho, Gaspar, Guabiruba, Indaial, Pomerode, Rio dos Cedros, Rodeio and Timbó.
The implementation of a natural risk management platform first requires the enhancement of the technological tools for detecting and monitoring events available to those involved in natural risk management. IMREDD proposes to experiment with and validate one or more methodological tool(s) enabling the characterisation of detection methods and the means for monitoring and managing an incident: establishing a «baseline» and taking a proactive approach to drive progress. Furthermore, by replicating within the Smart City Innovation Centre the resources necessary for understanding and managing risks, IMREDD aims, through innovation, to advance decision-making support.
Operational objectives
- To experiment with and validate a methodological tool for characterising the detection, monitoring and management of a risk-related event.
- To establish a baseline and generate proposals for improving the detection and decision-making of services involved in crisis management.
- Establish a list of raw data sources (such as cameras, road sensors, hydrometric sensors, art structure services for rockfalls, etc.) by risk typology.
- Define and use these data sources to make them understandable.
- To define dashboards to promote risk understanding and management.
- Host or replicate the dashboards defined above within the IMREDD Smart City Innovation Centre.
