Alpimed+ ECOTERR
Goals
For the implementation of the cross-border Climate Charter, born from the previous Alpimed Piter, ECOTERR aims to try and establish a sustainable model for the management and protection of natural resources through two phases.
A first phase of territorial characterisation to better understand the dynamics related to natural resource availability, with a focus on water resources and biodiversity.
A second phase for the implementation of experimental actions specifically aimed at improving water resource use in the project's various fields of action.
Throughout the duration of the project, there will be continuous animation activities involving identified stakeholders (from administrators to citizens, from students to businesses) to raise their awareness regarding the behaviours to implement to foster territorial resilience.
The sharing of good practices implemented in ECOTERR will also be implemented within the framework of the FORUMs envisioned by the CCP and the exchange with the ECOTOUR project.
Activities, impacts, outcomes
ECOTERR's activities are divided into three main macro-categories.
The first concerns the improvement of education and awareness for a sustainable and resilient territory. The sustainability and effectiveness of the activities undertaken in ALPIMED depend on the appropriation of these resilience issues by the territory's users; these activities include numerous environmental education and awareness actions that promote an understanding of the stakes and capacities of local stakeholders. An activity aimed at characterising the Alpimed zone through a spatial analysis of water resources and biodiversity will allow for better targeting of the necessary changes in the zone for the future.
Another activity involves the implementation of pilot projects within the zone, the effectiveness of which will be evaluated so that they can be transferred to other areas for replication and capitalisation at all levels.
The expected results are:
- the implementation of a sustainable model for the management and protection of natural resources
- increased resilience of the Alpimed territory
